Anand Anjay Ramnanan is a multi-talented Trinidadian Canadian singer, songwriter-composer, producer and music executive with 27 years of experience in the music industry. Born in Trinidad, the sister island Tobago, as a young teen he was musically inclined and by age 12 he played drums for a boy scout musical band. In 1993 he started composing original pop songs (Melody and lyrics) naturally a gift he was born with and has composed 9 singles and 1 album released.
CURRENTLY Ramnanan is producing his third original record "I Remember You" an R&B ballad, melody and lyrics composed by Ramnanan. He will record the song in July, that will be released to radio in August 2025.
On January 16, 2025, Ramnanan released Touched My Heart his second original single, an English dance-pop song, of which he composed the melody and lyrics, recorded vocals and produced the record. "Touched My Heart" acquired radio airplay on rotation and spins on 17 physical radio stations in Canada and international and he was interviewed on Radio Cayman 88.9 FM and ABS Radio 90.3 FM in Antigua & Barbuda to name a few. The single reached an audience of hundreds of thousands of listeners in just a few weeks of released and continues to acquire airplay with more radio interviews scheduled in April. Ramnanan was also interviewed by print-media about the new single and music career.
In 1998 Ramnanan released Juli his first original fusion pop single, which he composed, recorded and produced. The record was released by his middle name Anjay and touched the hearts of over 1 million people. (English) vocals recorded by Anjay and (Hindi) vocals recorded by Sharique and the late Hassan Kasani natives from Pakistan. "Juli" acquired airplay and interviews on radio stations in Toronto "Punjabi Lehran AM 530" as well airplay on CHIN 100.7 FM and spins on 103.1 FM in Trinidad and Tobago to name a few. Anjay was featured in local and international print media and on Canadian television, Trinidad and Tobago Guardian article by Peter Ray Blood, Etobicoke Guardian and Desi News to name a few. He was interviewed on "Bollywood Blvd" (CFMT/OMNI 1) Television in Toronto and performed "Juli" with an interview on "Asian Television Network" in Ontario, which was broadcasted in 2001 across countries in Asia and North America, with live performances at the Canadian National Exhibition Canter and other events in Toronto during 2000-2001. He formed a pop duo "Nutune" with another musician Haroon, they had some success and parted ways.
HIS WORK AS A SONGWRITER-COMPOSER & PRODUCER
Ramnanan composed the melodies and wrote lyrics for the majority of original songs for Learn And Have Fun Vol.1 a children educational-entertainment English Pop album, recorded by Canadian singers: Anastasia Winterhalt, Denis D'Aoust, Roxanne Norman, Brandon Peneycad, Sarah Lau, Callan Pienaar and Laura Mikelsons. The album was produced by Ramnanan and released in 2003 by Kidcircle Inc mainstream and was available on CD and Audiocassette. The CD was retail in Toy stores, "Indigo Books & Music" and American "Sears" retail stores in Canada that sold well. The CD was also marketed by a major label "Kaboom Entertainment Inc" and "UNICEF Canada" expressed interest.
Ramnanan composed the melodies and lyrics for an English Pop-Gospel EP album Friends are Friends recorded by 11-year-old Amy Ram that was released independent in 2002. The best song in the EP is Thank You God. Ramnanan sold the "Rights" of all 4 songs that were purchased by the parents.
Ramnanan composed the melody and wrote the lyrics in English and translated to Hindi for Tum Ho Mera Pyaar, a Fusion Pop single. The song was recorded by Canadian Vikas Khanna featuring Caprice a rapper. The record was produced by Ramnanan and released on April 2013 and acquired radio airplay in ethnic markets in Canada, United States of America and spins on 103.1 FM in Trinidad. The single received great review by (Joshua Surtees) Trinidad & Tobago Guardian and Ramnanan was interviewed as songwriter on 103.1 FM and radio station in New Jersey U.S.
Ramnanan composed the melody, and AB Perro wrote the lyrics for Days Of Rain, an English Pop ballad, recorded by American Lorraine Scott who was nominated 4 x for Canadian Juno Award/Canadian Grammy. The single was released in 2014 mainstream and acquired radio airplay on CBC Radio 1 in Canadian cities as well international airplay and interviews.
Ramnanan composed the melody and majority of lyrics as Author and Al Kussin contributed as the coauthor in the "lyrical" element for I Am Gonna Crash an English dance- Pop single. The song was recorded by Amanda Defacendis an up-coming Canadian rising star. The single was released in November 6, 2015, mainstream and acquired international airplay on commercial radio Slam 101.1 FM Barbados and More 94 FM Bahamas are few to name.
Ramnanan composed the melody and majority of lyrics as Author and Al Kussin contributed as the coauthor in the "lyrical" element for Higher an English dance-Pop single, recorded by Lorraine Scott. The single was released on April 15, 2017 mainstream and acquired international radio airplay on commercial radio.
Ramnanan composed the melody and wrote the majority of lyrics as Author and Denis D'aoust contributed as the coauthor in the "lyrical" element for Someday an English Soft rock ballad, recorded by Trinidadian Krystal Khayne. The record was produced by Ramnanan and released on July 26, 2021. The single acquired radio airplay in Canada on CJWA 107.1 FM, CHIP 101.9 FM, Northumberland 89.7 FM are few to name and airplay and interviews on commercial radio stations in Caribbean countries. The song also performed excellent on Spotify playlist.
Ramnanan composed the melody and wrote the lyrics for This Christmas an English Christmas Pop ballad, recorded by German actress Katrin Lion. The record was produced by Rudiger Gleisberg in Germany and released on December 02 2022 on label BSC Music, Germany. The single acquired airplay on 45 radio stations in two weeks, just days before Christmas Day and was broadcasted and acquired airplay in Canada on Telile Television, BOIR 100.1 FM, Canoe 100.9 FM, CHIP 101.9 FM, Germany on Radio Okerwelle 104.6 FM, ITV Coburg, and commercial radio stations in the Caribbean, Magic 103.7 FM, Radio Cayman One 89.9 FM to name a few.
Ramnanan composed the melody and wrote the lyrics for Am In Love With You an English Soft rock ballad recorded by Emile Dean. The record produced by Ramnanan was release on August 6th, 2024, and acquired some spins and radio interviews.
